Sid Meier's Ace Patrol: Pacific Skies ($4.99)

Pacific Skies is the turn-based sequel to Ace Patrol and puts you in charge of a squadron during World War II. Each turn has you deciding what your units will do as they face off against the enemy in aerial battles such as Pearl Harbor and Midway. With over 180 missions to play, US and Japanese forces to command, and plenty of upgrades to discover, Pacific Skies is an impressive strategy game not just for history buffs.

Football Heroes (Free)

Football Heroes (Free)

Sure, you can play Madden NFL on your phone, but why not try something a little different? Football Heroes is a lot like Tecmo Bowl in that it features zany arcade action but it mixes it up by featuring a deep level of customization and RPG elements that let you train and build the team you want. Dash your way to the end zone, but dont forget to smack some guys along the way too--for extra points, of course.

Lego The Lord of the Rings ($4.99)

Lego The Lord of the Rings ($4.99)

If you never got a chance to play Lego The Lord of the Rings back when it released on PC and consoles a while back, now is your chance to play it on the go. This robust title plays just like its pricier counterparts so expect to see the same lovable characters, missions, and Lego brand of humor. With a character named Legolas in a game such as this, how can you not expect some jokes?

Pathogen ($2.99)

Pathogen ($2.99)

Getting an infection can mean bad news, but infecting things in Pathogen is how you win. Combining aspects of Go and Chess, Pathogen requires you place different types of cells on the board and infect as much of it as you can before your opponent does. You can face off against the computer through three difficulty levels or test your skills online with other players. With dozens of levels to play and a stage-creator with endless possibilities, getting infected actually feels good.

Octagon ($1.99)

Octagon ($1.99)

Octagon is all about quick reflexes as you swipe your screen to keep a little octagon rolling down an 8-sided tunnel and avoiding gaps along the way. You only get 60 seconds, so youll need to know how to rotate things around to make it to the finish line in time. With an endless number of randomly generated levels to play through, Octagon is never the same experience twice and will improve your reflexes the more you play---that, and your leaderboard score, of course.

iOS

Meltdown ($1.99, Free)

Meltdown ($1.99, Free)

Zed is a badass former Marine with a mission to complete, and he isnt going to let a few malfunctioning robots stand in his way. Meltdown is an isometric action game and features 30 action-packed levels complete with shoot-outs, explosions, and even the occasional boss battle. You can upgrade your weapons and expand your arsenal as you play, but if things get too dicey, you can always enlist the help of up to three friends in co-op mode. And since levels are randomly generated, youll never know what or who youll run into.

Mystery of the Opera ($4.99)

Mystery of the Opera ($4.99)

Mystery of the Opera is a hidden object puzzler that has you uncovering the mystery behind the disappearance of a famous opera singer. As with most titles in the genre, you need to look closely within your surroundings and spot objects you need to solve puzzles that unravel the games narrative. Its a relaxing experience for sure, but your environments are filled with such charming details that finding everything isnt as easy as it seems.

Big Action Mega Fight! (Free)

Big Action Mega Fight! (Free)

Paying homage to games like Streets of Rage, Big Action Mega Fight! is a throwback to the 80s featuring iconic tunes, mullets, and lots of side-scrolling action. You wont have to spend a dime to enjoy all the classic gameplay, but a little cash can make leveling up a bit easier. With dozens of stages to fight your way through and plenty of abilities and special attacks to unlock, Big Action Mega Fight! is true to its name and definitely earns the exclamation mark in its title.

Debonair Facial Hair ($0.99)

Debonair Facial Hair ($0.99)

Just in time for Movember, Debonair Facial Hair is a game about, well, facial hair. You play as a fledgling barber that needs to style the moustaches of various manly clients that walk into your shop. Comb them, snip them, and groom them all by following waypoints that appear on the screen. Of course, its not that easy as distractions will try to keep you from maintaining a steady hand. If you can make it past every obstacle and style the over 180 moustaches the game throws your way, you may just have what it takes to be next Moustache Maestro.
