Activision has revealed 11 new tracks for Guitar Hero III:
"Miss Murder" - AFI
"Number of the Beast" - Iron Maiden
"Through Fire and Flames" - Dragonforce
"3's and 7's" - Queens of the Stone Age
"Suck My Kiss" - Red Hot Chili Peppers
"Raining Blood" - Slayer
"Reptillia" - The Strokes
"Paranoid" - Black Sabbath (Cover version)
"Cities on Flame"' - Blue Oyster Cult (Cover version)
"Mississippi Queen" - Mountain (Cover version)
"La Grange" - ZZ Top (Cover version)
Metallica's "One" will kick off Guitar Hero III's shift away from using cover-versions of famous tracks - the heavy metal classic has been taken direct from the band's original master track studio recording.
GHIII gamers (rockers?) will also be able to download an as yet unconfirmed number of songs from previous games in the series. Presumably in the same fashion as other downloadable content, which is packaged in bundles of three songs.
According to publisher Activision, Guitar Hero is the number one franchisein America. Well, given Rock Band's stellar potential, thatcould be about to change -so expect a deluge of Guitar Hero III announcements over the next months, as the game gears up for a Novemberish release.
