LittleBigPlanet 2's plot takes shape in new story trailer

We've seen LittleBigPlanet 2 beta creations, gadget demonstrations, level building tutorials, and even the sublime Kevin Butler team-up, but up until now Media Molecule has been relatively quiet about the game's main campaign. It's with great interest then, that with just weeks away from its release and a day after its North American demo debut on PSN, we are finally able to get an official glimpse at the seemingly epic adventure that awaits Sackboy in January.

Media Molecule appears to be bumping its storytelling up a few notches from the original LBP by adding fully voiced characters, meaty cut scenes and a plot that consists of more than speech bubbles and a few scripted events.

Snippets of LBP2's story have been circling YouTube for months, but it's nice to be given a more formal introduction to the likes of Avalon Centrifuge, Danny Da Vinci and the foxy Eve. Well, foxy for a Sackgirl with a cage over her head. Don't judge.

PlayStation's European blog has announced that LittleBigPlanet 2 has gone gold, and that it is 100% on track for its launch on January 18th in North America, and January 21st in the UK.
