Jennifer Lawrence stars in new image from The Hunger Games: Catching Fire

The Hunger Games: Catching Fire has released a new image, featuring the returning Jennifer Lawrence as ballsy heroine Katniss Everdeen.

The new image shows Katniss in what looks like her battle gear, sitting in a contraption that doesn’t look altogether comfortable. Is this immediately pre-games? It certainly doesn’t look like a winner’s throne…

The new film will see Katniss forced back into battle, as Donald Sutherland seeks to nip her growing popularity in the bud before it poses him too much of a problem.

His answer to the situation is to enlist her in the Quarter Quell, a kind of greatest hits Hunger Games, where previous champions are forced into another fight to the death.

Directed by Francis Lawrence and co-starring Josh Hutcherson, Liam Hemsworth and Philip Seymour Hoffman, The Hunger Games: Catching Fire will open in the UK on 22 November 2013.
