Javier Bardem boards Tetro

After dabbling with critically drubbed ultra-indie meditation Youth Without Youth, Francis Ford Coppola is switching gears (if not film styles) and upping the budget slightly for his next trick, Tetro.

Recent Oscar-scooper and naff haircut survivor Javier Bardem will join scenester hero Vincent Gallo for Tetro, which follows a Buenos Aires family struck by tragedy and betrayal. “I know choosing Vincent Gallo to star in my film will raise a few eyebrows," Coppola told Variety, "but I'm betting that seeing him in the role will open some eyes." Let’s hope that’s in a good way.
