Anchorman: The Legend Continues has added another piece to its casting puzzle with the announcement that James Marsden has signed on to join the production.
Marsden will play an anchor for a rival news broadcaster, with his chiselled good looks making him an obvious nemesis for old-stager Ron Burgundy.
Marsden bagged himself a recurring role in the final two series of 30 Rock , and from what we’ve seen of his comic timing in that show, he looks a solid addition to Anchorman ’s growing ensemble.
Kristen Wiig recently signed on to play some love interest for Brick Tamland, while crucially, all the major players from the first movie have agreed to return.
Directed by Adam McKay and co-starring Will Ferrell, Paul Rudd, Steve Carell, Christina Applegate and David Koechner, Anchorman: The Legend Continues will open in the UK on 1 August 2013.
