Denis Villeneuve’s kidnap thriller Prisoners has released a first trailer in which Hugh Jackman and Jake Gyllenhaal try to track down a pair of missing girls.
Jackman plays the devoted father whose life is turned upside down when his young daughter and her friend go missing from their sleepy suburban neighbourhood. Meanwhile, Gyllenhaal is the cop charged with finding the villain responsible.
However, progress proves slow through the official channels, and it isn’t long before an increasingly desperate Jackman is forced to take the law into his own hands.
Take a look at the new trailer, below…
With sterling support from the likes of Terrence Howard and Paul Dano, this one looks likely to deliver some heavyweight performances alongside the race-against-time thrills.
Directed by Villeneuve and co-starring Viola Davis, Maria Bello and Melissa Leo, Prisoners will open in the US on 20 September 2013, with a UK release date to follow.
