Does Hugh Jackman want another Tony to add to his awards cabinet? Or is he trying to prove that Spider-Man: Turn Off The Dark wasn't such a terrible idea after all by laying the foundations for Wolverine The Musical ?
Either way the X-Men actor has announced that he will return to New York's Broadway to perform a selection of his favourite musical numbers, including songs that reflect his stage and film career.
With that in mind TF is looking forward to hearing something from Blood Brothers (geddit?) that reflects his relationship with Sabre Tooth in Wolverine , 'The Farmer And The Cowman' from Oklahoma to mark his role in Australia , plus 'I'm A Bad, Bad Man' from Annie Get Your Gun to remind him that he was in Van Helsing .
Hugh Jackman, Back on Broadway opens for previews on 25 October at The Broadhurst Theatre, with the official opening night on 10 November. It runs until 1 January 2012.
"I can't believe it's been seven years since I was singing and dancing on Broadway,” said Jackman. “There is nothing like performing on the Great White Way and I'm so excited to be coming ‘home’.”
Can you really call it a one-man show when you're accompanied by an 18-piece orchestra, though?
