Princess Rosalina's big screen debut is just days away. I thought I couldn't get any more eager to sit down and munch some popcorn while staring up at my space queen in the new Super Mario Galaxy Movie, but then Turtle Beach went "what if we draped one of our best Nintendo Switch 2 controllers in Rosalina artwork" and unveiled their new Rosalina Rematch Wireless Switch 2 controller.
The Nintendo Switch 2 controller is available for pre-order for $64.99 (Amazon) / £54.99 (Amazon) and is expected to launch on May 4, 2026. Strangely, this is well after the launch of the film on April 1, but that hasn't diminished my adoration for this stellar-looking pad, draped in key art of Princess Rosalina dramatically posing in her iconic turquoise gown or its integrated RGB lighting effects that light up the pad as bright as the stars in space, which looks just as magical as my favorite Super Mario series princess.
The upcoming officially licensed Rosalina Turtle Beach controller is a re-skin of the brand's 'Rematch' pads, which feature TMR thumbsticks, mappable back buttons, up to 40 hours of battery life, and a low-latency wireless connection that works up to 30 feet away from your Switch 2.
The official marketing image doesn't do the RGB light effects that the Rematch controllers are capable of justice, if you ask me. I've been fortunate enough to be testing the upcoming Mario and Luigi Rematch controller, which is essentially the exact same pad. It's also available to pre-order for $64.99 at Amazon, and reveals a hidden, illuminating pattern of rainbow-colored classic Mario items once it's turned on.
It's not static, as the Rosalina images may make you believe. Instead, the RGB lighting of these Rematch controllers runs through the pad in waves. The effect feels even more fitting for this upcoming Rosalina gamepad, as the controller lights up to reveal a galaxy's worth of stars. Even the silhouette of the Comet Observatory lights up and shimmers, which should make it a spectacle for the eyes. It feels almost impossible not to have the beautiful hub-world waltz stuck in my head as I glance at Turtle Beach's official marketing images.
There's still time to grab the Mario and Princess Rosalina Super Mario Galaxy series amiibo figures, which launch the day after the movie on April 2, 2026.

If you aren't much of an RGB fan, this is still a great-looking controller regardless. Its turquoise and yellow color palette matches Rosalina and her Lumas perfectly, and has me reeling with joy over how they're going to be portrayed in the upcoming film. Yet, as excited as I am, I don't want to over exaggerate too much that this is still a typical Rematch controller, so there's nothing new here besides its Rosalina makeover.
It's also not even the first Rosalina controller to appear online in the lead-up to the movie's release. Hori, a brand behind some of the best Nintendo Switch 2 accessories where designs are concerned, unveiled its new "Universe Rosalina" Wireless HORIPAD Turbo pad, which features the space queen herself floating alongside a cute Luma friend. It's currently available for $69.99 (Target) and is also compatible with the new Ninty handheld. Much like Turtle Beach's version, it sports the same stick-drift-defying TMR thumbsticks and wireless connectivity.
The Hori version only has a battery life of up to 10 hours, however. Fortunately, this upcoming Turtle Beach Rosalina controller is equipped with up to 40 hours of juice, which is more than plenty to play Super Mario Galaxy on your Switch 2 if the movie has you in the mood for a replay.
While the Rosalina Turtle Beach Rematch Switch 2 controller won't release for a while, you can already grab the official Super Mario Galaxy Movie toys online. They feature Rosalina and even a egg-hatching Yoshi, if you prefer the adorable green dino instead.

Ever since I first held a NES controller in my hand I've been obsessed with gaming, and the hardware it runs on. I could hook up a NES and SNES to a telly, without instructions, before I could walk. Even now, nothing is more exciting then taking a console, or handheld, out the box for the first time and setting it up. This obsession transformed into a love of games and game music, which lead to my music degree and dream of becoming the Scottish Nobuo Uematsu. After sharing my love of games through music, I began to share my love through words on sites like TechRadar and iMore. This lead to becoming a Hardware staff writer for PCGamesN, and later the Senior Tech Writer for Dexerto, covering all things Steam Deck, PlayStation and Nintendo. With that experience, I was able to level up as Hardware Editor for GamesRadar+, where I'm still just as Nintendo, PlayStation and gaming tech obsessed as ever.
