The Nintendo Switch 2 itch finally came for my fiancé once Pokemon Pokopia was a thing, which meant I was overrun with "what accessories should I buy?" questions. As someone who tests the best Nintendo Switch 2 accessories practically every day, this did not bother me in the slightest. In fact, I felt in my element deciding on what new Ninty goodies best suited my partner's needs.
I could have easily reminded him of my author page here on GamesRadar+ and sent him on his merry way, but instead, I picked out a range of accessories that suited him best. While you most definitely are not my husband-to-be, you never know if what works for him will work for you. Like the Samsung 256GB microSD Express Card, which I informed him is the best bet for some extra storage. Its $59.99/ £44.99 price tag is the lowest you'll get for that amount of storage, and it comes with a cute Mario design too. I also directed him to the Donkey Kong Play Trek Switch 2 case, which features a unique lenticular design that moves depending on how you look at it.
The case was clearly the winner from the whole lot, as it was the first thing he showed off to my in-laws when revealing to them his new, shiny Switch 2. Additionally, I made sure to get him to pick up an extra pair of Joy-Con straps. You get a pair with the console, but it's easily lost, and it makes the mouse controls with Pokopia a lot easier to control. Plus, they just so happen to fit in the accessory pocket of that Donkey Kong case. I love it when a plan comes together.

Ever since I first held a NES controller in my hand I've been obsessed with gaming, and the hardware it runs on. I could hook up a NES and SNES to a telly, without instructions, before I could walk. Even now, nothing is more exciting then taking a console, or handheld, out the box for the first time and setting it up. This obsession transformed into a love of games and game music, which lead to my music degree and dream of becoming the Scottish Nobuo Uematsu. After sharing my love of games through music, I began to share my love through words on sites like TechRadar and iMore. This lead to becoming a Hardware staff writer for PCGamesN, and later the Senior Tech Writer for Dexerto, covering all things Steam Deck, PlayStation and Nintendo. With that experience, I was able to level up as Hardware Editor for GamesRadar+, where I'm still just as Nintendo, PlayStation and gaming tech obsessed as ever.
