Oh dear. Arc Raiders only yesterday got a hotfix for an infamous dupe glitch that went viral and promptly started ruining the game, and now yet another exploit is running rampant, with players giving guns functionally infinite ammo, huge magazine sizes, and endless durability.
These two glitches gained major traction overnight, especially the ammo one following a stream from creator TheBurntPeanut, who demonstrated just how powerful the exploit is. This is apparently a bit of a trend now, as it was the same streamer whose coverage saw the previous dupe glitch explode in popularity.
Both exploits work in a similar way, involving players quickly swapping their guns around in their inventory before dropping and then picking them back up, seemingly confusing the game into mixing up certain attributes – for example, applying one weapon's maxed-out durability to another that's been heavily used, repairing it for free.
As for the ammo glitch, it doesn't just provide more ammo, but also alters the magazine size, allowing you to keep shooting without reloading even with weapons like the Hullcracker or the Ferro, which normally boast a magazine size of five and one respectively.
I'm sure I don't need to explain that there's a reason for those limited magazine sizes – it's all about game balance, a balance that's now been thrown completely off as players tear through the game blasting everything in sight, their usual limits removed.
"A Ferro/Anvil being able to shoot 100+ bullets for free without reloading or a Hullcracker with infinite ammo to spam is a thing in the game right now," one player on Reddit laments. "Why am I blowing through all my money buying/crafting expensive launcher ammo + risking all my premium gear to score like 100k on trials only to stand no chance against people scoring that much on a SINGLE trial because they aren't even spending/risking anything and can spam them freely?"
"The duping glitch is nothing compared to this infinite ammo glitch," says another. "Having a ferro or anvil or torro with 100 rounds is insane and crazy OP."

Another writes: "It's a perfect time to take a break from the game until Embark can get their shit together. Until they instill fear in people for cheating, nothing will change. Imagine what the game will look like a week from now at this rate."
Players have been flooding the official Arc Raiders Discord server with pleas to Embark to fix these issues, and thankfully, it does sound like the devs are on the case. Responding to one fan asking if anyone else had encountered the "bug where the ferro has 31 bullets and it can shoot without reloading," Embark community lead Ossen replies: "The team is aware of this one."
Hopefully, then, it won't be too long until another hotfix is rolled out. Just remember, if you were planning on giving these exploits a try, Embark stated after fixing the dupe glitch yesterday that "players who have duplicated excessive amounts of items will be subject to further review and possible penalties," so there could be consequences for this one, too.
