Nintendo has confirmed that Fire Emblem: Fortune's Weave will be the focus of the next Nintendo Direct, with a presentation airing tomorrow.
Over on the Nintendo Today app, it was confirmed that not only are we getting a Fire Emblem: Fortune's Weave Nintendo Direct, but it's happening in about 24 hours.
Nintendo also confirmed that we'll be getting a 20-minute presentation of the game, so expect it to go into some detail about what to expect when it launches next month on September 17, 2026.
Not counting the upcoming The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake, this is arguably Nintendo's biggest release of 2026, so a dedicated direct was always a given. And when it comes to size, it will almost certainly be Nintendo's biggest release, as it's decided that Fire Emblem: Three Houses wasn't enough houses and is splitting Fortune's Weave into four stories (potentially more, given Three Houses let you split off in some paths).

The Fire Emblem: Fortune's Weave Nintendo Direct will take place on August 4, 2026 at 3pm BST | 10am ET | 7am PT, and is set to last 20 minutes.

What to expect in the Fire Emblem: Fortune's Weave Nintendo Direct
Fire Emblem: Fortune's Weave seems to be particularly massive, so we'll likely have a lot to see during the showcase tomorrow. One major point of speculation is whether the four protagonists will be the true protagonists of the game, or whether Fortune's Weave will feature an avatar character, as in every entry since Awakening.
On the game's box art, there are two white-haired figures slap bang in the middle, with many assuming these are the male and female designs for the avatar character. However, given we have seen footage of the four protagonists running around the overworld in the previous Nintendo Direct, I'm not entirely convinced this is the case, so maybe we'll figure out what purpose this white-haired duo serves in the Direct tomorrow.
It's a big day for Intelligent Systems fans, as tomorrow also sees the release of its cancelled Virtual Boy game D-Hopper.
