Assemble a party and fight for survival in the turn-based tactics of Lost Eidolons: Veil of the Witch

Hardcore tactics fans prepare yourselves, because the gameplay in Lost Eidolons: Veil of the Witch will be right up your street! As revealed during the Future Games Show Summer Showcase, it's launching for PS5, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch later this year, or you can play right now in Steam Early Access.

In Veil of the Witch you take on the role of Ashe, who wakes up shipwrecked on a mysterious island with no memories and a big sword – which you're going to need immediately, as the place is teeming with monsters, cultists, and zombies that are all trying to take you down. Fighting them leads to grid-based tactical battles, where you'll need to juggle the skills of your party members to keep up the pressure while your abilities are on cooldown.

While tactics are at the core of the gameplay, there are also roguelite elements to deal with as you navigate branching paths on each playthrough. You'll need to react to unpredictable challenges and many dangers along the way, and these will certainly lead to your demise in the early stages of your adventure.

However, in Veil of the Witch death is far from the end, as after you die you'll resurrect back in town with your skills and abilities intact, which you can then add to by purchasing new upgrades and crafting equipment before heading back into the fray. Each death also unlocks a shard of your memories, so you can start piecing together who you are and why you came here. Remember – if at first you don't succeed: die, die again.

Lost Eidolons: Veil of the Witch is officially launching later in 2025 on PS5, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch, but you can play it now in Steam Early Access or check out the demo there to try before you buy.
