2D indie painterly platformer Constance gets a new trailer and release date reveal
That's some fine brush work
Upcoming 2D platformer Constance just got a brand new trailer at the Future Games Show, with new reveals of gameplay, story, artwork — and a reveal of the release date, with the game coming to PC on November 24, 2025.
While Constance has been revealed and known for a while, the new trailer gives us fresh story context, as well as the date announcement. That's not to say anything's exactly clear yet, but we get some tidbits and some literal snapshots: an artist struggling in the shadows of her studio, figures warning the hero about the adventure ahead of her, and old photographs harkening back to happier times...
It also goes without saying that we've noticed the beetle in the room: an indie platformer with an emphasis on a large melee weapon to bounce around, not to mention a moody, stylized look with lots of shadows and baroque architecture? If Constance isn't at least partly inspired by the modern classic Hollow Knight, I'd certainly be surprised, though considering how long fans of Silksong have had to wait, I'm sure most will be happy for more than one such game to come out this year to satiate their appetites accordingly.
As mentioned, Constance will be out on PC on November 24, 2025 (a demo is playable on Steam right now), and releases are planned for the PS5, Xbox Series X, and both the Switch and Switch 2 at some point beyond that.
