When does Fortnite Season 3 in Chapter 7 start?
Fortnite Season 3 launches on June 6, is called Runners, and here's what we know about it so far
When does the Fortnite Season 3 of Chapter 7 start is a question we now know the answer to, as Runners will get underway on June 6, 2026. As always, you can expect things to get switched up for the fresh season, with new areas of the map to explore, familiar faces and new characters to meet, and no doubt some updated mechanics to get to grips with.
Epic aren't known for resting on their laurels and are always planning the next stage of development in Fortnite, so there will certainly be more changes brought in during the course of the upcoming season and beyond. If you're looking forward to Fortnite Season 3 of Chapter 7 and are wondering what changes it may bring us, then here's everything we know about it so far.
When does Fortnite Season 3 in Chapter 7 start?
The Fortnite Season 3 in Chapter 7 release date has now been confirmed as Saturday, June 6, 2026, through official posts and announcements in-game. This tallies with the information displayed for the Fortnite Season 2 Chapter 7 Battle Pass, as seen on the official website and the in-game Battle Pass screen, which states that the current Battle Pass will end on June 5.
This means that Season 3 of Chapter 7 will launch after that on June 6, following the season finale Fortnite live event, titled Shattered. This also means that the Fortnite servers will be down for an extended period of time during the switchover, which is often at least 3-5 hours but could always take longer due to unforeseen issues.

In the teaser trailer for Fortnite Season 3 in Chapter 7, we catch a glimpse of plenty of new characters that will be introduced – more on them below. We also see that Sprites are returning in a big way, with lots of different ones to collect that will provide various boosts to your powers. As always, we'll be getting some Fortnite new weapons to play with, including what looks like a powerful shotgun that destroys a vehicle with a blast.
We've also had an official reveal of the Fortnite Season 3 Battle Pass, which confirms the following characters are included:
- Heatwave PJ
- Cluster
- Dylan
- The Guardian
- John Wick (Pen & Ink style)
- The Voidblade
- Vanguard Slone
- Wolfe
This is a mix of returning characters such as Slone and John Wick with new styles, plus some fresh faces – Cluster the duck is my favorite so far! Customizable Sprite Mechs will be available, plus an option to display your Sprite collection. For those who sign up for the Battle Pass during launch week, there are bonus items including the Gold Huntress style for Dylan plus Marbled Speedboat, Venomous Chainsaw, and Gilded Cherub Holster, and further rewards will be available during the season such as John Wick and Dog, Gunglider, Dark Cubic Sneakers, and Blade of the Void.

If you're watching the big Summer Game Fest presentation on June 5, then keep an eye out for the official gameplay trailer reveal for Fortnite Season 3, which should be happening right before the Shattered end of season live event.
How much will the Fortnite Season 3 in Chapter 7 Battle Pass cost?
Fortnite is free to play, but buying the Battle Pass will get you lots of additional rewards. The Fortnite Season 3 of Chapter 7 Battle Pass will be available for 800 V-Bucks, following the V-Bucks price increase, which means it will still be enough to purchase the smallest V-Bucks bundle in the Fortnite store, priced at $8.99 / £6.99 to get 800 V-Bucks. By completing the Battle Pass you can earn 800 V-Bucks back through unlocks, but you can no longer collect additional V-Bucks above that.
Weekly digests, tales from the communities you love, and more
It's possible to get a head start by buying the Battle Bundle upgrade. This will get you to Tier 25 on the Battle Pass instantly. Doing so will cost you 2,600 V-Bucks, which you can get for $22.99 / £17.49. You can also sign up to the Fortnite Crew subscription service, which costs $11.99 / £9.99 per month but gives you access to all of the Fortnite Passes including the Battle Pass, as well as awarding a bonus 800 V-Bucks every month and other exclusive rewards.
If you don't want to spend any money, you can always try to get free Fortnite V-Bucks for the Fortnite Season 3 in Chapter 7 Battle Pass, but don't fall for online scams! If you choose to save up some V-Bucks, remember that you only need 800 of them to unlock the next Fortnite Battle Pass starting in June 2026.
And that's everything we know about Fortnite Season 3 in Chapter 7 for now, but keep checking back and we'll have more details as soon as they're revealed!
