Diablo 4 hotfixes squash bugs blocking Lord of Hatred quest progression and stop Necromancers from using broken skills to tear through Sanctuary
That new Talisman tab should now unlock properly for everyone
Diablo 4's new Lord of Hatred DLC might have had a shaky start thanks to long initial login queues and bugs, but Blizzard has been on the case with hotfix aimed at ironing out a progression blocker and fixing the missing Talisman tab.
The first hotfix – which arrived yesterday – takes aim at two slightly broken quests. The first is related to the aforementioned missing Talisman tab – a problem some players reported encountering at launch.
Community manager Rich 'filthierich' Bantegui explains in a post: "Fixed an issue where if the Last of the Horadrim quest was completed in a party, only one party member would be credited with completion and the Talisman tab would not unlock for other party members." Teamwork clearly seems to have been the issue here, as Blizzard previously advised anyone affected to complete the quest "solo on an alternate character" to get around the bug.
Article continues belowThe other quest issue addressed in hotfix 1 relates to "The Soil, The Seed, the Fruit," which previously had a bug that could stop you progressing through it. Notably, the "She Sleeps Within You" quest – which was quickly highlighted as having a similar problem when the expansion first released – hasn't been fixed yet, but Blizzard is aware of the bug and is planning to address it.
Blizzard has definitely been busy, though, as a second hotfix has landed to fix more problems in Diablo 4 version 3.01. Specifically, it makes tweaks to two Necromancer skills, as well as the health of certain monsters. As Bantegui writes, "the Schadenfreude variant for Iron Maiden and the Bramble Variant for Bone Prison did far more damage than intended," so those have been adjusted, and "various monsters, such as Pangs of Duriel and Infernal Prison, had much higher health values than intended," so those will be lower now, too.
The change to Bone Prison seems fairly significant, too. One player on the D4Necromancer subreddit notes that they were previously "doing 705m at paragon 95" with the skill, but after the hotfix, they "do like 205k and can't kill shizzle." Certainly unfortunate for them, but it was clearly capable of doing far more than Blizzard had in mind.
Of course, the devs aren't done just yet, but this is a solid start as far as bug fixes go, particularly with the missing Talisman tab. After all, that's a new system introduced for Lord of Hatred, so it'd be rather unfortunate if folks couldn't actually unlock it properly. My condolences to the Necromancer players who were enjoying their broken skills, though.
