Trailers for Hideo Kojima games are truly a genre unto themselves, often esoteric as they are. A promo accompanying Death Stranding 2: On the Beach's PC launch is no different, and the man himself took to Twitter to explain his ideas for it. They're exactly what you'd think, which is to say, you couldn't have possibly predicted this.

"I tied it in with the lyrics "from rain to tears, from rain to rainbow," as well as the themes of Death Stranding 2," Kojima adds. You can often sense this depth from his teasers, especially as they usually come from his workstation, as he used to hallmark the arrival of On the Beach's PC version.
That all said, the visual juxtaposition of Woodkid's massive vocal crescendo, featuring a kids choir, and mentions of "Support for Ray Tracing" and "Remappable Key Binds" is hilarious and very entertaining. This is still a video game, and the medium has some necessary quirks when it comes to promotion.
Death Stranding 2: On the Beach comes out on PC tomorrow, March 19. Since that's Sam Bridges's latest venture well taken care of for the time-being, attention turns to OD, his horror game for Xbox, and Physint, another Sony gig. Whatever comes, you can expect the trailers to be memorable.
