Logan (opens in new tab) is without a doubt one of the best movies of the year, and will be on many a wish list once it's released for home entertainment. As well as rewatching the fantastic blockbuster, fans will be treated to a few special features, including some scenes which didn't make the final cut. Lucky for you, we've exclusively got our Adamantium-clawed hands on one of those deleted scenes and it reveals the fate of one of the central characters.
If you remember, Stephen Merchant’s Caliban redeemed himself by helping Dr Rice and co find Logan, Laura, and Professor X by blowing up the van he (and a load of baddies) were in, giving his friends time to escape. It may have felt like a pretty final ending for the character as it is, but this being a superhero movie (and one which is part of the huge X-Men movie franchise), there's always a chance Caliban might have survived or be resurrected later on.
5 questions I have after watching Logan (opens in new tab)
The above deleted scene though confirms that Caliban did indeed die in the explosion, which makes sense given the extent of the damage. You can see why director James Mangold choose to omit the scene from the final cut, but I personally really enjoyed seeing Logan move to help his friend before realising it was too later. It proves all's forgiven and is a fitting end to the character.
Logan is available now on Digital Download, and on Blu-ray™ on July 10, from Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment.
