The Evil Within has been touted as pure survival horror by none other than Shinji Mikami himself and we all know what he means by that. Namely, that the game will throw you in at the deep end with a bunch of creepy dudes out to kill you and all you have to defend yourself is a soft-boiled egg and half of a plastic spork. The bottom half. Okay, it's not quite that bad, but ammo and items are scarce, and you'll be in constant and desperate need of both.
Fortuitously, the save area is home to a number of lockers that contain all sorts of goodies to help you along the way. You just need to find the hidden keys out in the world to unlock them. Seriously Mikami-san, you are having a laugh.
Don't give up hope just yet, as we've scoured the corner of every map for these keys, hidden inside ceramic Virgin-Mary-looking statues precariously balanced on walls, strung up on washing lines and tied to the backs of hapless animals, because these are all perfectly reasonable places to store statuettes.
The contents of the lockers are randomised so sadly, we can't guide you to the lockers that contain 2 keys or the ammo you're in dire need of. Think of it as Deal or No Deal, without the pointless contestant back-stories that no one cares about, and the patronising host.
