One Marvel star has dropped a major spoiler suggesting that Spider-Man will appear in Avengers: Doomsday, and it's actually not Tom Holland. This time, it's Simu Liu.
The Shang-Chi star took to Instagram on April 7 and shared a seemingly harmless illustration of Doctor Doom holding a basket of Easter eggs all decorated like Marvel heroes. Below the drawing, the image contains pictures of heroes alongside their respective eggs.
The heroes pictured include Shang-Chi, Cyclops, Thor, Sam Wilson's Captain America, Shuri, Doctor Strange, Ant-Man, Loki, Reed Richards, and Holland's Spider-Man. Now, since pretty much all of those characters have been confirmed to appear in the upcoming Avengers movie, does that mean Spidey will show up too?
Article continues belowThe plot thickens, as the actual illustration came from Robert Downey Jr.'s Instagram page. The Doctor Doom star posted the picture in celebration of Easter, so technically, he may be the one to have spoiled Spidey's involvement in the new movie. However, it could just be a harmless Easter-themed post, as Benedict Cumberbatch's Doctor Strange has also not been confirmed to return. Check out the post below.

Fans seem to think the illustration is proof that Spider-Man will appear in Doomsday, as one said on Twitter, "So finally there is a confirmation from the Shang Chi himself." But, many think that the egg points more towards Tobey Maguire's Spidey as the stretched-out Spider logo fits the earlier Spider-Man suit rather than Holland's more modern emblem.
However, it is important to note that RDJ's post does not include images of the Marvel heroes, so the Spider-Man egg could well be a reference to Maguire's web-slinger. As far as we know, Maguire is not set to appear in Doomsday, but has been rumored to return in Avengers: Secret Wars. As for Holland's Peter Parker, we will next see him in his fourth Spider-Man movie this summer, Spider-Man: Brand New Day.
Avengers: Doomsday lands in cinemas this December 18. For more, check out our guide to the Marvel timeline, and keep up with upcoming Marvel movies and shows heading your way.
