Deadpool 2 is bringing back three fan-favourite characters from the original movie

If you’ve been impatiently waiting for Deadpool 2 (opens in new tab) casting news then it’s time to finally cool your chimichangas as three fan-favourite characters from the original Deadpool (opens in new tab) will be returning in the sequel.

Speaking to Collider (opens in new tab), writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick confirmed that Colossus and Negasonic Teenage Warhead will “make at least an appearance” in Deadpool 2.

Having hindered (and then helped) the Merc with a Mouth’s quest for revenge in the first movie, it’s unclear whether they’ll play a big role in the upcoming sequel - especially as the original was so keen to poke fun at the limitations behind the use of X-Men characters.

Reese and Wernick have been pulling double duty, though, and confirmed in an interview with Nerdist (opens in new tab) that Dopinder the long-suffering (and slightly psychotic) taxi driver will appear, with Wernick joking, “We got to get him his own spin-off.” Who’s up for a Dopinder and Deadpool road trip comedy?

Deadpool 2 is scheduled for release in 2018.
