Vote for your favourite titles from the illustrious sci-fi publisher before the end of the week...
Between 9 April and 15 May (that's this Sunday people!), you’ll be able to pick your top novel from a shortlist of 50 titles selected by the Gollancz team, some for their lasting impact on the genre, others for their popularity and longevity. Simply head here and vote for your favourite. The top 10 books will then be reissued in the classic 1960s Gollancz “yellow jacket” livery and given brand new introductions. Then, a panel of top industry types will select the top two novels (one SF, one fantasy), to be revealed in September.
“We’re delighted to be able to celebrate the 50th birthday of the UK’s oldest distinct SF list and it seemed entirely appropriate that we do that with something that allows readers to choose their own favourites,” says Gollancz deputy publishing director Simon Spanton. “We’re immensely proud of our authors and to be able to celebrate their achievements in the context of half a century of publishing is a heady feeling. The ‘yellow jackets’ played a huge part in an older generation’s love affair with SF and we’re looking forward to carrying that tradition on.”
