Snow White is currently competing with The Wizard of Oz and Peter Pan to see who can get the biggest number of reboots and prequels in production.
One such Snow White project, which has the title The Brothers Grimm: Snow White , has signed Armie Hammer to play Prince Andrew Alcott.
It's not hard to see why Hammer (currently best known for playing the Winklevoss twins in The Social Network and soon to be seen in Clint Eastwood's J. Edgar ) was cast as a fairytale prince, what with his preppy good looks and imposing frame.
The Brothers Grimm seems to be leading the Snow White pack as it has a director, Immortals ' Tarsem, and a wicked Queen in the form of Julia Roberts. Rumour has it that Saiorse Ronan ( Atonement , The Lovely Bones ) may have won the title role in this version, but we've yet to hear confirmation.
Meanwhile, rival project Snow White and the Huntsman appears to have hit a snag or two. Viggo Mortensen seemed to be a lock as The Huntsman but he has now departed the project, and apparently Charlize Theron still hasn't officially signed as The Evil Queen.
That just leaves Kristen Stewart (as Snowy) as the only certified cast member in that movie.
Yet another version, Disney's Snow and the Seven , is currently in the very early stages, with Toy Story 3 's Michael Arndt working on a new draft of the script.
