BioWare has no plans for Mass Effect: Andromeda on Switch but "never wants to close doors"

BioWare plans to take the Mass Effect series to a new galaxy and new generation of consoles with Mass Effect: Andromeda, which will launch for PS4, Xbox One, and PC sometime this year. But what about the fancy new consoles lurking just over the horizon, the Nintendo Switch and Scorpio? BioWare says it has currently has no plans for either. At least, not yet.

Speaking with Stevivor, company producer Michael Gamble had bad news for series fans looking forward to the Nintendo Switch. "Yeah, not right now, no," Gamble said. "We’re not planning on [a Nintendo Switch version]." But before you get too upset, Gamble left a bit of wiggle room for plans to change: "If the Switch launches and everyone’s just yammering for Mass Effect, who knows. We never want to close doors like that."

While Andromeda will have PS4 Pro-specific enhancements, the same could not be said of Microsoft's upcoming console. "For Scorpio, we have absolutely no plans right now," Gamble said. Note the "right now" part of Gamble's statement; similar to what he said about Switch, he added that "you never know" what the future could hold. Unless it's spaceships. The future definitely has spaceships.
