Will the Kingslayer become the Queenslayer? Jaime Lannister weighs in on Game of Thrones fan theory

Lots of Game of Thrones fans have Jon Snow pegged as the prophesied prince who will save Westeros - but a growing group of viewers are suggesting that the "Prince That Was Promised" is actually Jaime Lannister. And unlike Kit Harington, who isn't quite sold on the idea of his character being a legendary hero, Nikolaj Coster-Wauldau (the man who plays Jaime) is all for this fan theory.

"I can see it makes sense, it has a beautiful - it's a nice circle, they are born together in the womb and then he kills her at the end... It makes sense," he recently told Mashable. But just because Coster-Wauldau finds the theory "beautiful" doesn't mean he thinks it will happen. "You could say that the motivation for [killing the Mad King] would be the same for killing Cersei, but I haven't seen anything yet before season 7 that would make me believe that he was capable of doing that," he said.

Interesting phrasing there: "before season 7." Okay, so what about during season 7? Or after it? Mashable asked the same, to which Coster-Wauldau replied, "You'll have to watch the show." Well fine! I guess we will, when Game of Thrones season 7 premieres on July 16.

In the meantime, chew on these other GoT season 7 teases: one theory says that giant ice spiders are coming, while an old favorite character is preparing for their return.
