Tuesdays news round-up: Kirk, Who, Sarah Jane and heroes in a half shell

NEWS!
Chris Pine became the frontrunner to squeeze into Captain Kirk’s yellow sweater last week, and now he’s been all-but-confirmed as the new captain of the Enterprise. Director Joe Carnahan, who had Pine lined up to star in his James Ellroy adaptation White Jazz, said on his blog that the actor has opted to become the next William Shatner. If this proves to be true, then JJ Abrams just has to find a Dr McCoy – Lord of the Rings’ Karl Urban is the current favourite.
