The Mummy set photos reveal Sofia Boutella's monster

Universal is looking to kickstart its moster cinematic universe with The Mummy next year, and cameras are currently rolling on the movie in London. Sofia Boutella is starring alongside Tom Cruise as the titular monster, and she was recently glimpsed on set in her Mummy costume.

The images seem to be teasing a bit of a simplistic look, but after CGI the final get-up could be much different to what we see here.

In any case, between her breakout performance in Kingsman: The Secret Service and her upcoming role in Star Trek Beyond, Boutella is definitely one to watch right now. Couple her with the always consistent Cruise and this reboot has my curiosity, if not my attention.

Directed by Alex Kurtzman and starring Tom Cruise, Sofia Boutella, Annabelle Wallis, Jake Johnson, Marwan Kenzari, Courtney B. Vance, and Russell Crowe, The Mummy is due to open in cinemas on June 9, 2017.
