Star Wars Battlefront Outer Rim trailer sets up DLC and free update

Star Wars Battlefront will get a free update for all players, as well as the paid Outer Rim DLC, later this month. Electronic Arts and DICE published a new trailer for the downloadable expansion that introduces its four new maps set in Jabba's Palace and a Sullustan refinery, Extraction mode, and two new playable heroes: Greedo and Nien Nunb.

The accompanying press release also confirms that all Star Wars Battlefront players will get access to Hutt Contracts, an expanded level cap, a spectator mode on March 22, and new weapons - though it's not clear if this is also when the Outer Rim content is scheduled to go live. Either way, the new Relby V-10 rifle and DT-12 blaster pistol weapons will be available exclusively for Outer Rim owners.

Check out EA's official livestream if you want to see more of the Outer Rim before its release date. Season pass owners can look forward to battling across Cloud City in the Bespin pack over the summer, then fighting for the Death Star in autumn, with an untitled fourth pack slated for early 2017.
