Star Trek's Michael Dorn wants Worf TV show

To the delight of many, it was recently reported that Star Trek is returning to TV, but what about its spin-off shows? Michael Dorn has been enthusiastic about his character returning to the small screen. For the uninitiated, he played Lieutenant Commander Worf on Star Trek: The Next Generation for seven seasons and Deep Space Nine for four seasons, in addition to starring in all four Next Generation films. Basically, calling him a Star Trek veteran would be an understatement.

In an interview with Den of Geek, Dorn offered an update on the status of his proposed spin-off, which he calls The Worf Chronicles: "The idea that we have is a great idea, so what we'd like to do is use it to start a new franchise. I think if we populate [the series] with Star Trek franchise actors, I think that's a good place to start. We'd be able to promote it through the conventions we already do, and the great thing about it would be that we'd own it. We'd be free to do what we wanted to do."

"I think if we populate [the series] with Star Trek franchise actors, I think that's a good place to start", Dorn continued. "We'd be able to promote it through the conventions we already do, and the great thing about it would be that we'd own it. We'd be free to do what we wanted to do". This is no doubt encouraging news for fans of the Klingon commander; in addition to expanding the Star Trek universe, a Worf-centred TV series would also give Dorn the opportunity to flesh out a character he clearly loves. Here's hoping it comes to pass.
