Atlus announced today that it is planning to publish a re-release of the highly lauded JRPG, Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 4 on the PlayStation Vita. With a current Metacritic rating of 90 (and what's infinitely more important, a9/10 from GR) Persona 4 was one of the best JRPGs to be released in ages, and Persona 4 Golden will add even more content.
The remake also boasts new personas to collect, a new character, several new cutscenes, new story events and an "online rescue feature" which allows you to call on other players to help you when you're near death in the TV world.
It's worth mentioning though that additional features may not necessarily be a good thing. In our 2008 review, Henry Gilbert noted that heavy exposition and an overflow of content made it difficult to ever finish. So new cutscenes and story events could oddly be a negative. That's not likely to perturb you if you're a JRPG fan though.
Atlus hasn't yet announced the specific release date, but it's currently slated to come out sometime in the fall.
