Lifting both title and premise from a Wilco song, this meandering US indie follows a pair of estranged brothers who are spending the day driving round LA County in a beaten-up BMW.
Driver Michael (Adam Scott) is an emotionally guarded novelist, while younger sibling Toby (Joel Bissonnette) is a recovering addict.
Via a string of encounters with various oddballs, Canadian writer/ director Matt Bissonnette reveals how the leads’ deadpan banter hides some painfully unresolved feelings.
There’s nothing earth-shattering here, but the acting’s credible and the wrap-up unexpected.
