Twilight is dead… long live Twilight ! Yes, The Host is the latest pretender to the vampire mope-fest’s crown (it helps that this one is drawn from another saga by Stephenie Meyer), and it’s released some new images to boost its claim.
The fresh stills give us a closer look at the relationship between Saoirse Ronan’s heroine and her dual suitors (of course), Jake Abel and Max Irons. And unsurprisingly, it gets a bit steamy…
The film is set in a future version of Earth in which the majority of the human population have fallen prey to a race of parasitic aliens who have assumed control of their bodies.
However, not everyone goes quietly, and when one young girl’s (Ronan) body begins to resist its alien intrusion, it appears that there might yet be hope for the home team.
Directed by Andrew Niccol and co-starring Diane Kruger and William Hurt, The Host will open in the UK on 29 March 2013. You can check out the new images, below:
