MGS3: Subsistence out October

October 2006 will see the release of Metal Gear Solid 3: Subsistence which will mark Solid Snake's last outing on PlayStation 2.

Metal Gear Solid 3: Subsistence comprises of a three disc set, the first disc being an advanced version of the fantastic Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater. This new version uses the 3D camera system that will be used in Metal Gear 4, allowing gamers to view the action from any angle they choose. There is also a Demo Theatre where sequences from the game's cutscenes can be replayed.

The second disc has a multitude of online modes that allow up to eight players to compete against each other. These include capture and rescue missions, deathmatches and team matches, and are located in environments seen in the game as well some new areas.

Other features on the second disc include Duel mode which allows gamers to replay the epic boss battles, a Secret Theatre containing all of the spoof scenes and the complete Metal Gear and Metal Gear 2 games which first appeared on the MSX in 1987.

The third disc has a full CGI Metal Gear Solid 3 movie, which is a three and half hour compilation of radio conversations, cutscenes and gameplay footage. There's also a Metal Gear Solid 4 trailer.
