Before loading into one of LittleBigPlanet 3's unbearably adorable platforming stages, I'm given a choice of which character I want to play. Sackboy? He's old news; been there, done that. Maybe I'll go with Oddsock, a cute little doggie--or Swoop, a bird that looks as though it's the product of a fancy arts and crafts project. But then I see him: a big, goofy, lumbering character with an unending smile; a fun-loving bipedal cloth-Hulk; a truly magnificent humanoid named Toggle who doesn't know his own strength. "My God," I think to myself. "LittleBigPlanet 3 has Hodor as a playable character." I immediately lock in my selection without a second thought.

All four characters in LittleBigPlanet 3 have unique abilities, which makes co-op platforming a mostly simple, but undeniably fun, experience. Progression largely consists of figuring out how best to combine the abilities of each character to overcome obstacles. For instance, Toggle leverages his size to push or pull heavy blocks and levers, opening up pathways for his teammates. He also has the ability to transform into a much smaller version of himself, which allows him to travel through tiny pathways no one else can enter.

The platforming feels very similar to that in the previous LBP games. It's very floaty and easy to get the hang of, but it's the inventive stages that'll keep you coming back, particularly when they tap into each character's unique skills. And don't forget: half the fun of LBP is building your levels and--though I haven't had a chance to check that aspect of the game out just yet--there are more creation options than ever before. Bonus points if you make a Game of Thrones stage, then troll your friends by picking them up in Toggle's giant, musclebound cloth-arms, and carrying them around while chanting "Hodor."

Be sure to read on for more LittleBigPlanet 3 images and information.
