One thing that’s great about sequels is they can correct mistakes from the original, and one of the biggest complaints about Final Fantasy XIII was the general annoying nature of Hope. These new screens of an older, perhaps wiser Hope brought back our hope that the character can be good. We got a huge pile of new screens from Square today that not only feature the controversial character, but also new areas, gambling, and Chocobo races.
The casino-like area is known as Xanadu is where you’ll find minigames like slot machines and the aforementioned Chocobo racing. Sharp-eyed readers will also spot the bustling, futuristic city of Academia, as well as the puzzle-ish Time Labyrinths. As happy as we are to see Hope getting another chance, we’re more stoked to spot Tonberryin this collection of images. We love that guy and his stabbing ways.
