Did you spot the Indiana Jones easter egg in Star Wars: The Force Awakens?

Since the release of Star Wars: The Force Awakens we've learned that Kevin Smith, Daniel Craig, Ewan McGregor and Simon Pegg made cameos - and that Yoda nearly made one. We can probably expect more in-jokes, references and sly nods once the movie is granted a home video release, but if you can't wait until then for your next easter egg fix, savor this new tidbit.

In an interview with Nerdist, David Acord, who worked as a sound editor and sound designer on the film, revealed that The Force Awakens sound team had access to Skywalker Sound's entire audio archive. That includes the whole Star Wars screen canon - Rebels, The Clone Wars - and as well as everything within the Skywalker Library.

The library houses sounds from every movie the production house has worked on, leading to this nifty connect between a galaxy far, far away and a certain archaeologist: "When the rathtar is rolling down the hallway after Han and Chewie, I put in the sound of Ben Burtt’s boulder roll sound from Raiders of the Lost Ark when the boulder is chasing Indy."

Did you spot it? That's a well-hidden tie between the two franchises, and without being able to rewatch and rewind The Force Awakens at home, it would be nigh-on impossible for anyone to detect it in the cinema. The same goes for another unusual piece of foley that formed the basis of Kylo Ren's Force sound. "The really chunky and animalistic rumble—is my cat’s purring," Acord adds. "It’s heavily pitched and slowed version of my cat’s purr that becomes Kylo Force rumble." Well, who knew that deep down Kylo Ren was just a pussycat.
