Despicable Me and Percy Jackson trailers arrive

Two new trailers are online today – one for CG animated adventure Despicable Me and another for the first Percy Jackson outing.

Percy Jackson And The Olympians: The Lightning Thief (known as Percy henceforth, thanks to its unwieldy title) is directed by Chris Columbus, who helmed the first two Potter pictures.

And boy, does it show a little. The contrasting mix of contemporary New York and ancient Olympia seems like an East Coat version of Rowling's wizarding world, except with greek mythology instead of Pythonesque fantasy.

There’s not a lot to the teaser (since the movie is still shooting) except for star Logan Lerman and some nice CGI. Check it out below.

Next up is Despicable Me, Universal’s latest step into DreamWorks Animation territory. It’s got a solid comedy voice cast (including Steve Carell, Jason Segel, Kristin Wiig and even Julie Andrews) and a fun-sounding concept about a super villain faced with taking on three orphan girls who select him as a possible father.

You won’t find any of that in this teaser, though – and the film itself won’t be out for a year yet. Take a look and let us know what you think.
