21 studios making PlayStation exclusive content

Microsoft is often viewed as the platform holder willing to splash the cash to tie up Xbox exclusive content, from early DLC for the likes of Call of Duty to exclusive game modes for FIFA and full games like Titanfall, but Sony too appears to be aggressively chasing PlayStation-only content.

During a stage presentation at the GameStop Expo in Las Vegas last weekend, Sean Coleman, Sony Computer Entertainment America’s group manager of retail training and advocacy, said the company has partnered with over 21 third-party developers to secure a range of “exclusive game content” for PlayStation platforms, some of which we already know about, like PlayStation-only Assassin’s Creed 4 and Watch Dogs missions.

Notable partners revealed at the GameStop event included Rockstar, Bungie, Activision, Ubisoft, Bethesda, Konami, Square Enix and Sega. And that doesn't include a massive list of exclusives coming to PS4 and Vita from indie developers. “We’ve forged great third-party partnerships with some of the biggest developers to bring exclusive game content to PlayStation gamers which creates the best place to play,” Coleman said. On the subject of PS4, he also claimed: “If you compare PlayStation 4 visuals side by side with any other gaming console, PlayStation 4 will look better every time.”
