Assassin's Creed for PC and 360?
[Multi] Speculation over Ubisoft's multiformat plans grows
Tuesday 4 July 2006
Ubisoft's next-gen action game Assassin's Creed may well be in development for PC and Xbox 360, as well as PlayStation 3, if mounting speculation is anything to go by.
Many believed Assassin's Creed to be a PlayStation 3 exclusive, primarily because the Sony console is the only format Ubisoft has confirmed for the game, but the publisher/developer has never actually described it as a PS3 exclusive.
It wouldn't come as any surprise if Assassin's Creed did emerge as a multiformat game as Ubisoft has done the same with its other important games such as Splinter Cell and Prince of Persia.
Also, in May we reported that Assassin's Creed started life as Project Assassins, which many expected to be a multiformat game, with some reporting it as one to watch for Xbox 360 at this year's E3.
We contacted Ubisoft for the official word on there being a PC and Xbox 360 version in the works, but were told that Ubisoft won't comment on rumours.
