APB Reloaded coming to PS4 and Xbox One

Back when APB shut down a scant few months after its June 2010 release, you probably never figured it would appear on the next generation of consoles. But miracles/free-to-play revamps do happen, and APB: Reloaded is set to release on PS4 and Xbox One in the second quarter of 2015.

Publisher Deep Silver announced on Wednesday that the online action game, which lets players customize characters and vehicles for massive cops-and-robbers battles across urban environments, is headed to consoles. It will be entirely free-to-play on PS4 (with the requisite array of microtransactions), though you'll need an Xbox Live Gold membership to play on Xbox One.

The original APB was developed by Crackdown studio Real Time Worlds, which went out of business soon after its release. It was resurrected by Reloaded Games on PC in December 2011, and it's apparently seen more than 5 million players since then.

Our APB Reloaded review wasn't too keen on the game, but it's had a while to work out the kinks since then. You'll soon be free-to-play it on PS4 and Xbox One and see what you think. It's worth downloading just to make some beautiful abominations in the character creator, in my opinion.
