Well, add this to the list of evidence that Assassin's Creed Origins (opens in new tab) is definitely a thing, even if Ubisoft won't admit so just yet. NeoGAF user WraithWalker 1893 (opens in new tab) posted a picture of what appears to be a bit of Assassin's Creed Origins merch - specifically, a t-shirt with the hero emblazoned on the front.
I don't know about you, but I'm liking what I see. A costume that looks basic and not too flashy, a bow (suggesting some long-range capabilities), a shield (indicating some more brutal melee combat perhaps), and … is "Ba Yek" our hero's name? Google Translate says that's Kurdish for "one," which would make a certain amount of sense but I'll leave that as something of a mystery.
Even Ubisoft has taken notice. Here's Ashraf Ismail, previously listed as the game director for Assassin's Creed 4 and currently the director of "an unannounced project" making what could only be a cheeky subtweet:

In short, everything here matches what we've heard about AC Origins (opens in new tab) so far: a trip way, way back in time to ancient Egypt (opens in new tab), showing us the… well, origins of the Assassin-Templar conflict, helmed by the team that developed Black Flag. All we need wait for now is some official confirmation - maybe by way of a stylish trailer?
