Microsoft's Gamescom press conference happened this morning. We were expecting Lionhead's Peter Molyneux to reveal what his studio is working on and maybe some other Microsoft/Xbox related stuff to be mentioned. We got plenty of the former, but not so much of the latter. Actually we get none of the latter. Turns out this was prety much just a Fable conference. Here's an abridged version of events: ... » Read More

Gamescom is unquestionably more low profile than E3’s explosive LA shindig. But that doesn’t mean there aren’t plenty of reasons to get pumped up for the upcoming event in Cologne. Hell, we can think of, oh, at least 23 examples why you should give a damn about the ‘European E3.’ And they all take the form of potentially amazing games. Below you’ll find a line-up of some of the most exciting titles due to ... » Read More

360 - Alan Wake - E3 09: One-shots At E3 this year, we experimented with a new type of video, what we’ve dubbed the “one-shot.” The idea is simple: to capture as much of the thrill and bustle of the show floor as possible in a single 60 second take, closing with a velvet-rope cameo by a famed developer. Let us know what you think – if you like ‘em, we’ll do moar next year! ... » Read More

360 - Alan Wake - E3 09: GamesRadar's E3 2009 awards E3 2009 was a monster. A huge, massive, face-eating beerdemon that erased the agonizing memory of 2008’s meager, emaciated E3 from our minds with a flood of great-looking games, earth-shattering announcements, and a few quizzical oddities we never want to speak of again. After this, we mean, because some things are so good, bad, or just bewildering that you just have to tell people about them. ... » Read More

360 - Alan Wake - E3 09: Why wait? E3's hottest games reviewed NOW! We don’t make a big deal about it, but we here at GamesRadar actually live several months in the future. It’s pretty cool, although we should warn you that we still won’t have flying cars or laser cats come Christmas – shocker, we know. But we do have review scores for the games you’re most looking forward to playing. ... » Read More

There’s no denying it, Microsoft had a strong press conference on the opening day of E3. 360 - Alan Wake - No Heavy Rain until 2010? We’re only a few weeks into 2009, and already we’ve seen what is likely the first of many games shoved from their comfortable 2009 release dates into the uncertain depths of 2010. Scarcely six months after confirming Final Fantasy XIII as a multi-platform release, Square Enix announced that its flagship role-playing epic wouldn’t appear until at least next year. ... » Read More

Dec 12, 2007 The games industry is a strange, strange place. Its almost 30 years old now, but it seems developers still cant agree on the best way to PR their babies. In our experience, they go one of two ways: trundle down the elaborately stage-managed Assassins Creed path, a game wrapped so tightly in Ubisoft cotton wool that it was little wonder dire rumours surfaced that the game might be one huge stinker (thankfully, as our review attests, we neednt have worried). Or they take a plunge ... » Read More
