Last-minute shoppers: the Xbox Countdown sale begins December 22

Is all your holiday shopping done, or do you still need to snag a gift for the special someone (like, say, yourself)? Well, Xbox is celebrating with a year-end sale on games, movies, and TV, starting December 22. They're calling it the "Countdown" sale, with new daily and weekly sales becoming available through January 7.

Games like Halo 5, Rise of the Tomb Raider, Forza Motorsport 6, and Rare Replay will take center stage, but Microsoft says that "hundreds" of games, movies, TV, and apps will be part of the sale. Even a few backwards compatible Xbox 360 games will be available, if you're feeling nostalgic. Discounts range from 40 percent off upward, with Xbox Live Gold subscribers netting an additional 10 percent off of the list price.

And hey, the good thing is that, unlike other last-minute shoppers like yours truly, you won't have to wait in line.
