Xbox 360 updates uncovered

Thursday 25 May 2006
Microsoft is planning an Xbox 360 update that will allow gamers to download content from Xbox Live Marketplace while still enjoying the console's other entertaining functions - like playing a game, watching a DVD or listening to a CD.

In addition to the introduction of active downloads, a new option is apparently in the pipeline that will enable the console to always boot to the dashboard, even if a disc is already inserted.

Documents detailing the updates were discovered on and have since been removed. Microsoft was unavailable for comment at the time of writing, but we hope that the ability to 'do other stuff' while downloading is indeed on the way.
