Wii U update halves return to menu load time - video

Nintendo has released a video showcasing how an upcoming Wii U system update will improve loading times when returning to the main menu.

In response to frustration expressed by console owners over the operating system’s sluggishness, Nintendo said in February that it has two Wii U system updates in the works to remedy loading times.

The video below demonstrates that the first update, which is set for release in April, will more than halve loading times when closing a game and returning to the front-end menu. The spring update will also include Virtual Console support for Wii U, adding Miiverse and GamePad-only play to the initial lineup of NES and SNES games. A second performance boosting update will launch in the summer.

Wow, that is a huge improvement. I wonder how fast the summer update will make it.

It's good they got that time down, but that's still a long time just to exit your game.
