Witchspire, a co-op survival-crafting adventure with magic, is dropping next week
Early Access starts on June 10
Witchspire has been on our radar since it was announced last year, and not just because it's being brought to us by a studio known for supporting development of games like League of Legends and Overwatch 2.
No, Witchspire is a brand new survival-crafting game where you play as a witch trying to save a world from ever-spreading corruption. Playable either co-op or solo, you'll be exploring a vast world in your quest and trying to form bonds with the creatures you discover along the way.
The launch trailer for the game just dropped at the FGS Live From Los Angeles showcase, and it gives us a great look at the darkness you'll face when taking down the corruption.
But this isn't just about fighting, Witchspire is also about utilising your magic for building cozy little spellbinding cottages to create your very own coven. Handily, it sounds like you can use your magic to help you in building, like being able to summon a forest when you're running a little low on wood, or shifting into an astral projection to be able to move around freely as you place everything in your new abode just right.
You'll want some familiars around you too, if you're going to be a real witch, and Witchspire adds creature collecting into its gameplay loop along with, you know, trying to stay alive. Well, there's less of the starving to death here though, and it's more about keeping your magic reserves topped up, which is a refreshing change to the genre.
With new powers to unlock as you level up, plenty of crafting receipes to discover, and even the option to join a coven for unique abilities and outfits, there's going to be pletny to do in Witchspire.
It's out on PC in Early Access on June 10 and you can wishlist it right now ahead of launch next week.
