Red from Pokemon Gold/Silver/HeartGold/SoulSilver he is the embodment of what an ultimate challenge should be and for that he is my favorite.

Favorite boss fight? Levias from Skyward Sword. Chasing him down on your loftwing was exhilerating and fighting the giant tentacle atop his head was incredibly memorable. Also, the music that plays while you chase him is my favorite song in the game.

Mgs3's The Boss, SotC's Basaran, and Earthbound's Giygas.

Nyx, Persona 3. Cause of how bloody Epic is. Although I must say, the ost fun I ever had in a fight was Ornstein and Smough from Dark Souls. It's just not as Epic.

Wow, this is a toughie... Before I change my mind, I'll go with the Scorpion-Robotnik from Sonic Spinball's first world. I don't know why, but it seemed like such a big deal to reach him when I was younger. You had to collect all the Chaos emeralds, and still make it up three levels of pinball tables. The music was intense and the sound effects were (and stilla are) great, the explosion noises still get me. Being able get that perfect hit to sneak in under his stinger was a wicked feeling... The greatest feeling of all though, was the bounciness of hitting him... I don't about you, but since Sonic 2, I haven''t felt that same enjoyment while hitting Robotnik, or any other boss for that matter. The first few Sonic games had such a satisfying "bounce" when you'd hit that fat douche. I guess I could also go on about any of the Cardinal Virtues from Bayonetta, but hey, I gotta go with one choice...

Ganon at the end of Ocarina of Time. What an epic climax to an already amazing game!

The End in MGS3 shell yeah
  • popeyito2000 - November 8, 2012 2:54 p.m.

I'm actually quite surprised this fight was not on the list. It was exhilarating the many times I played it (each time trying different ways to beat The End).

Did you know that if you save during the battle and leave it for a week before you play it (or FF the console's clock) when you load the game up again the End will have died from old age.
  • DoubleLedgeTakedown - November 11, 2012 2:58 p.m.

Yeah, but that kinda goes against the point, takes away all the 'epicness' from having an awesome sniper duel
  • ibashdaily - November 8, 2012 2:32 p.m.

Wart from SMB2. First game I ever beat, and absolutely EPIC at the time.

Gosh, uhh... the Gaping Dragon from Dark Souls. Not necessarily because he was overtly tough, or that his mechanics were entirely unique to the game, but his entrance was AMAZING. The way his little crocodile-like head emerged slowly from the edge of the waterfall to reveal his, well, gaping maw that took up his entire front side left me awestruck.
  • GR_RyanTaljonick - November 8, 2012 3:03 p.m.

Oh god, that entrance. I about soiled myself.

Jeeze, reading this back brought back so many memories (/tear). K. Rool: awesome. Colossi: My favourite is still the vulture. Probaby my all-time favourite remains Psycho Mantis.
  • DEDBURDYgames - November 8, 2012 2:47 p.m.

The Rift Worm, Skorge (Gears of War 2) Satan (Dantes Inferno) Emperor Deviculus (Brutal Legend)
  • winner2 - November 8, 2012 2:49 p.m.

Sif the Great Wolf from Dark Souls. It would have been Ornstein and Smough but It felt more personal with Sif, I like the one on one fights better.
  • GR_RyanTaljonick - November 8, 2012 3:02 p.m.

ARGH, I was THIS CLOSE to going with Sif. So damn good.
  • SDHoneymonster - November 8, 2012 3:26 p.m.

You guys got there first, dammit! The new intro for the fight with the Artorias Of The Abyss DLC makes it even better - it's bloody heartbreaking!
  • GR_RyanTaljonick - November 8, 2012 3:48 p.m.

I haven't tried it on PC yet. Guess it's time to remedy that :P
