Uncharted: Golden Abyss trailer introduces us to Drake's new love interest and nemesis

When playing the first Uncharted for PS3, you often get the sense that this is just Drake’s most recent adventure in a long string of escapades, that he’s been globetrotting and tomb raiding for years. The PS Vita spin-off, Uncharted: Golden Abyss, looks to fill in said past, as Sony has gone on record that this takes place before Drake’s Fortune. In this trailer we get some of our first clues to the story, as we see Drake hunting down gold with Marisa and Dante. Wonder which one he’ll kiss and which one he’ll be betrayed by…

Maybe we’re wrong, but this trailer sure leads us to believe Dante, a shifty guy with prison friends, isn’t so trustworthy. He’s pointing a gun at Nathan by the end of the trailer, for God’s sakes! Meanwhile, Marisa seems a little more complicated. She looks unfamiliar with Drake at first, but they apparently share a secret? Perhaps Drake’s just out for the cash, and Marisa wants something deeper from the treasure, making Drake must choose between money and friendship (or dare we say, love?). We could be totally wrong, and maybe this whole trailer is a ruse, but when this title hits Sony’s new handheld next year, we’re betting we’re at least half right on this. (Note: we are not actually betting money on this.)
