Nintendo's DS continues to hold the title of home to the most interesting array of quirky new games and further evidence today comes in the form of brand-new screens of Trauma Center Under the Knife.

The 'medical simulation' allows you to play as a doctor who has to perform increasingly complex surgeries. At first it's just another day in the operating room but matters aren't helped when a mysterious outbreak sweeps the area. It's always the way.

DS's stylus is your virtual scalpel and allows you to make incisions, anaesthetise problem areas, remove tumours, monitor vital signs and apply bandages. It's what games consoles were made for.

Trauma Center Under the Knife will hit DS this winter
