Tomb Raider still not coming to Wii U

Lara wont be plundering Wii U

Earlier today, Nintendo fans were positively jubilant after a listing popped up online suggesting Tomb Raider might be coming to the Wii U.

The listing showed up online today after scans of the latest issue of GameInformer hit the web. Eagle-eyed super fans noted that a preview of Tomb Raider included "Wii U" among the consoles it'd be releasing on.

However, GameInformer has confirmed that the listing was, in fact, just a complete mistake, and wasn't any sort of stealth announcement of a next generation version of Lara's latest romp.

Take heart though! Tomb Raider is still coming to 360, PS3, and PC (read: the platforms we already own) so we'll all get to play Tomb Raider anyway, and that's good enough for us.

As Nintendo fanboy who will probably be getting a Wii U on launch, and therefore would want as many 3rd party AAA titles as possible, I honestly couldn't give a rat's arse if I couldn't play the Tomb Raider game. This "reboot" appears to a be a lazy generic set of "mature situations" as Meatwad would say (and as Dave Houghton's later article demonstrates), and much like any other "game". I know the series was getting a bit old hat, but I really don't see any reason for this to exist.

Tomb raider was born on sony, I believe, so it is fitting that the ps3 gets a piece of the pie.

First off, it was released on PC the exact same day as the PS. Second, the Pre-PS Saturn release was in one region only, and only by a couple weeks. Even having said that... It may have been conceived on PC & Saturn (first signs of it's existence), but the franchise was born on PS (when it really actually mattered and people noticed).

    I miss the saturn.
